Why this page existsDocuments are the part of a sale where an agent and a seller most often lose track of which copy is current.

The short answer

Documents keeps the files you upload, receive through your sale's email address, or sign on screen. Files can be organized under four sides of the sale: you, the buyer, the lender, and the title or closing team.

What it does

Documents keeps the files you upload, receive through your sale's email address, or sign on screen. Files can be organized under four sides of the sale: you, the buyer, the lender, and the title or closing team.

Drop a file anywhere in the room and it goes to Documents. Forward an email with an attachment to your sale's address and the attachment files itself. Open a PDF and you can fill in its fields on screen, place a signature line where one is missing, merge pages, and lock the finished version.

Older versions stay in the archive. A document you signed keeps a record of who signed and when, and that record survives even if you delete your account, because it belongs to everyone who signed it.

Drop a file anywhere in the room. It lands in Documents, filed under the right side of the sale.

How it saves your work

Files are encrypted in transit and at rest and stored under your sale alone. Access is enforced in the database itself, per person and per sale: a buyer only sees what you share with them, and never your private notes.

Uploading and reading documents is free at every stage. Editing fields, sending for signature, and the forms wizard open with a plan.

How you use it

  1. Drag a file onto the room, or press "Add a document" in the Documents tab, or email it to your sale's address.
  2. Pick which side of the sale it belongs to. The room suggests one when it can.
  3. Open it to read, fill in, or send for signature. Rename it if the file name was nonsense.
  4. Find it later by folder, by search, or from the step of the pathway it belongs to.

What it won't do

It does not read your documents to make decisions for you. Nothing is parsed out of a PDF into a number you did not type, on purpose.

It is not a listing service. Nothing in Documents is published anywhere unless you send it.

Questions people ask about this

What file types can I upload?
PDFs, images, and ordinary office documents. PDFs are the ones you can fill in and sign on screen.
Can I delete a document?
Yes, any time, and older versions with it. The one exception is a document other people have signed: that record belongs to all of you.
Can my title company or agent add documents?
Yes. Invite them into the room, or have them email your sale's address; either way the file lands in Documents under their side of the sale.
