How does the sale's email address work?

Your sale gets its own email address. Messages land in the room, sorted by who they are from, with the attachments already filed.

See mail that files itself in a room with your own address on it.

Why this page existsA sale's mail arrives from a dozen strangers, and the one you miss is the one that mattered.

The short answer

Every room has an address of its own. Give it to the buyer's agent, the lender, the title company, and anybody else on the sale, and what they send arrives in the room rather than in your personal inbox between the school newsletter and the bank.

What it does

Every room has an address of its own. Give it to the buyer's agent, the lender, the title company, and anybody else on the sale, and what they send arrives in the room rather than in your personal inbox between the school newsletter and the bank.

A message from someone already in People stays with their record. For a new sender, the Room asks which side of the sale they're on before filing the message. Attachments go to Documents.

Reply from the room. Filing and answering are two separate questions, so a thread you have answered stops asking to be dealt with, and one you have not stays at the top.

Your sale has its own email address. A message lands, and you file it to the buyer's side with one tap.

How it saves your work

Every thread is the sale's own record, kept with it. When a sale ends and you start again, the old address stops taking mail on the day the new sale starts, so nothing splits between two rooms.

If a related message or file name suggests the deal may have ended, the Room asks you to confirm what happened. It doesn't change the sale without your answer or interpret the document's contents.

How you use it

  1. Find your sale's address in the account panel, or in the Emails tab.
  2. Give it to the people on your sale, or forward things to it yourself.
  3. When something lands, the gold button shows it. Open it, file it if asked, answer if you want to.
  4. Find any thread later by the side of the sale it belongs to.

What it won't do

It does not read your mail to decide things for you. It sorts by sender and asks when it cannot.

It is not a replacement for your own email. It is one address for one sale.

Questions people ask about this

Can I send from it too?
Yes, replies and new messages go out from the sale's own address, so the answer lands back in the room.
What happens to the address after closing?
It keeps taking mail for a while so a late document still lands, then stops. Everything received stays in the room.
